Vancouver Battery recycling and the VSB

October 4th, 2012

Just wanted to let everyone know that Vancouver Battery is proud to be doing the recycling for the Vancouver School Board so when you see the the brown battery bins in all the elementary and high schools please use them.

The school board is providing the bins and we are providing free labor to pick them up, package and ship them off to the appropriate depots. We feel its our duty to try to help the environment in any way that we can.

Please do you part to recycle and if you have kids get them active in bringing your old batteries to school. Its a small thing but as a parent it makes me feel better that batteries aren’t going into the landfills.

Thanks,
Danny

Battery Rebuilds with Nicd, Nimh and SLA batteries

September 16th, 2012

Vancouver Battery is now stocked and equipped for battery rebuilds.  We have helped our customers in rebuilding and building custom packs using Nimh, Nicad and Sealed Lead Acid (SLA).  In addition we have invested in battery analyzers to test most of our cells before building packs and then testing the battery packs before we send them back to our customers.  We do this in most cases unless the volume and time doesn’t permit us to.

Give us a call if you need any battery packs built or rebuilt.  We’ll do our best to help you out.

Sanyo Eneloop XX – 2500mA – HR-3UWX – bulk out of stock

June 16th, 2012

Just a quick note to everyone that Sanyo Eneloop XX – 2500mA – HR-3UWX in bulk has moved so well that we are out of stock until further notice.  We still have the retail 4 pack for $24.99 + tax.  Rumor has it that the transition of Sanyo being sold through the Panasonic chain is taking a bit more time than expected.  Our suppliers are telling us that no one is able to get the Eneloop XX in bulk at the moment.  I will keep you all posted.

Sanyo Eneloop XX – 2500mA – HR-3UWX

May 25th, 2012

Vancouver Battery Corp now has the new Sanyo Eneloop XX – 2500mA low discharge battery  in stock.  We have both the retail 4 pack in stock for $24.99 + tax and have bulk available  at 8 pieces for $35.99 + tax.  These have proved a little hard to get but have had good reviews on the internet.  Sanyo has one of the best names in Nimh rechargeable batteries and this battery should prove to be one of the best.  I will be testing it shortly against the MAHA Imedion and the results should prove to be interesting.

MAHA MH-C9000 Wizard vs La Crosse BC-900

January 20th, 2011

Hi All,

I have had a few questions recently asking me what I thought regarding the comparison between the MAHA Mh-C9000 Wizard vs the La Crosse BC-900. Admittedly,  I haven’t had a BC-900 in my hands for quite some time.  The only experience I had with it,  to be honest I wasn’t really all that impressed.  It has alot of features but I had problems getting the right settings.  Maybe I just got a bad one and will buy another to test in the future.

Regardless if I get a new one to test, I will say that I do like the MAHA Mh-C9000 alot more.  Its display is bright but more importantly the buttons are easy to press and features are easy to access.   If you are on the road you may find this charger is a little too big but if you have a ton of batteries or just want a good charger to tell you what capacity your batteries are at, the MAHA Mh-C9000 is definitely worth a look.  It is a little more expensive at around $69.99 + tax though.

Thanks,

Danny

October 20th, 2010

Vancouver Battery is proud to announce that we will be distributors of Powersonic batteries. We are working on our first shipment of the most common Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) batteries as well as Powersonic’s full line of SLA chargers.

All Powersonic batteries will be available to us and we will consistently increase our stock on Powersonic batteries as we become more familiar with the line.

We are excited to bring on Powersonic because it has a great reputation in the industry as well as an extensive battery offering with competitive pricing.

Battery Recycling

October 3rd, 2010

Great news on the recycling front.  Since July of this year the BC government and the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC) have implemented a system that now includes non alkaline batteries.  There is no charge for this which has been a big barrier for recycling of non rechargeable batteries in the past.

Details on this recycling plan for BC can be found at:  http://www.call2recycle.ca/bc-product-stewardship-plan.php?c=149&d=244&e=200&f=340&w=9&r=Y

Now you can bring your batteries to Vancouver Battery Corp and we can send them off to be recycled.  As a note please bring them during our hours of business which is Mon-Fri: 10-6:30pm and Sat 10-5pm.  It can get a little messy looking when bags our left outside of our retail store.

Thanks for keeping green.  Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions.

I really like the Maxell batteries for there price and quality. We just want to move a little product to make room for our next shipment of Maxell coming in shortly. We will continue to support Maxell as one of our staple product lines.

Thanks,
Danny
